Rafaela Domingos Named NAIA Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Rafaela Domingos, a senior setter from New College of Florida, was voted NAIA Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week. Hailing from Araraquara, Brazil, Domingos has been a pivotal force for the Mighty Banyans.
Domingos delivered an outstanding performance over the weekend, accumulating an impressive total of 184 assists, averaging 12.27 assists per set. Her contributions were instrumental in New College of Florida's 3-1 record during the VolleyPalooza tournament.
Domingos' exceptional play was highlighted by two matches where she recorded over 50 assists.
Against Ave Maria (Fla.), despite a narrow 3-2 loss, Domingos recorded 51 assists for an average of 10.2 assists per set. She also contributed defensively with 18 digs for her first double-double of the weekend.
In the victorious match against Florida National, Domingos recorded 52 assists for an average of 13 assists per set, along with nine digs and four solo blocks, making significant contributions to the team's 3-1 win. In the second match the following day, Domingos helped her team improve to 3-0 against Florida National, contributing 43 assists for an average of 14.33, along with six digs.
In a sweep against Florida College, Domingos maintained her high level of play, with 38 assists for an average of 12.67 assists per set and an impressive 17 digs for her second double-double of the weekend.
Domingos ended the week with a total of 50 digs and 17 points across the four matches. She also contributed eight kills, one ace and nine blocks (7 solo, 2 assisted).
