Karissa Lindner Gains National Recognition After Record-Breaking Performance

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Karissa Lindner of Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) has been named the NAIA Women's Volleyball Defender of the Week following a record-breaking performance last week. 

Lindner's performance was nothing short of spectacular as she dominated the net against one of the top teams in the NAIA on Friday. She recorded eight blocks in just the first two sets, setting the tone for the rest of the match and leading her team to a crucial win. The middle blocker went on to shatter the LCSC single-match record with an astounding 15 blocks for an average of three blocks per set in a thrilling 3-2 victory over No. 19 Southern Oregon.


The following day, Lindner continued to showcase her defensive skills against Oregon Tech, where she contributed four more blocks in a solid 3-1 victory.

Over the two matches, Lindner amassed a total of 19 blocks, averaging 2.11 blocks per set, and made significant contributions to her team's defensive efforts. In addition to her blocking achievements, Lindner added eight kills over the weekend.
