Katie Vogt Becomes Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week After Landing New School Record

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Doane (Neb.) senior Katie Vogt of Pierce, Nebraska, has been named the NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week after putting together a standout stretch that featured two wins in the 400 meters, a school record and a key relay victory.

Vogt opened the week on April 6 at the Concordia Invite by taking first place in a 21-athlete field in the 400 meters, posting a winning time of 55.09. The performance also met the NAIA “A” standard, immediately establishing momentum for what became a dominant week on the track.

Two days later at the NWU/Doane Dual on April 8, Vogt elevated her performance again. She won the 400 meters in 53.32 against an eight-runner field, a time that not only secured another first-place finish and another NAIA “A” standard, but also set a new Doane school record. The 53.32 currently stands as the top time in the NAIA, underscoring the national significance of her breakthrough run.

Vogt’s impact extended beyond her individual event as she helped lead Doane’s 4x400-meter relay to a first-place finish at the same dual meet. The Tigers’ quartet clocked 3:49.38 to win the race and achieve the NAIA “B” standard, adding a team highlight to a week already defined by record-setting individual success.
