2024 NAIA Football Players of the Week - No. 5 (September 30)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Andy Peters of The College of Idaho has been named the NAIA Football Offensive Player of the Week, Aven Jones of Taylor (Ind.) has been named the NAIA Football Defensive Player of the Week and Tyress McKey of Reinhardt (Ga.) has been named the NAIA Football Special Teams Player of the Week. The trio was selected based on their performances from September 23-29 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/ unaffiliated group nominees.
Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular-season on Mondays on naia.org, Instagram and X.

NAIA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Andy Peters, College of Idaho - GR - Quarterback
- Was foundational in the Yotes come-from-behind upset win over Montana Tech
- Scored two rushing touchdowns, threw for two passing touchdowns, and rushed for a two-point conversion in OT
- Broke four College of Idaho records becoming the first Yote to surpass 400 passing yards in one game (419), and the first to break 500 yards of total offense per game (509), as well as earned him the record for career passing touchdowns (50) and helped him break the single-game record for completed passes (32)
NAIA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Aven Jones, Taylor (Ind.) - SR - Linebacker
- Posted a career-high 19 tackles, with 12 coming via solo sticks
- Recorded one sack for a loss of 14 yards
- Added one fumble recovery and 2.5 hits behind the line of scrimmage
NAIA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Tyress McKey, Reinhardt (Ga.) - JR - Running Back
- Recorded two touchdowns from kick-off returns, with one being a 92-yard kickoff touchdown
- Set an AAC record having two kickoff touchdown returns in one game
- Tallied another AAC record for the best KO return average at 61.3 yards per return (3 returns for 184 yards)
